Let Them Eat Cake

We split like hairs
One tendril, by the last step
Crashed, crushed

As the ark-people pass
With barely a glance
At the jaded petals, now faded.

I can see the raven line,
Gold-silk wings, royal-face shots,
An invisible hole worth two tickets.

After a triple-length round
Still no threads to keep tied
Ether-bound, now
Facebook legacies
Souvenirs of frosting and fizz,

Honey sky and cherry-tops lie
The sun mocks, it would be
Better if hailstones fell from my eyes
Like yesterday’s skies.
